Inspired by morning tea on the porch watching the sunrise, Vaknaðu is Beard & Babes third scent, embracing ancestral roots and scents reminiscent of travel adventures, Vaknaðu is a vibrant blend of Sweet Orange, Lavender, Lemongrass, Vanilla, Eucalyptus,and Nutmeg. Our carrier oils include coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, and jojoba oil.
Our Beta testers stated this one reminded them of “morning muffins,” “lemon poppyseed muffins right out of the bottle,” and a “good vanilla smell.”
Essential Oils:
Sweet Orange
Scent: sugary, sweet, and citrus
Sweet Orange essential oil is cold pressed from the orange peel. It’s an uplifting scent said to alleviate stress, reduce worry, and brings a sense of calm. It’s citrus properties can aid in the reduction of dull skin, has anti-aging properties, and is overall a good essential oil for the skin when diluted properly. It has been stated that Sweet Orange can aid in the treatment of dandruff, moisturizing dry hair, infusing the hair with vitamins, and helps prevent hair loss.
Lavender
Scent: fresh, floral, clean, calm, flowery
Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils and for good reason. Known for its calming properties, Lavender is also known to balance the body wherever you need it. When it comes to hair and skin, lavender is a good treatment for acne, sunburn relief, dandruff, and is a natural detangler.
Lemongrass
Scent: mild, sweet, fresh, lemony, tea-like scent
Lemongrass essential oil is a scent favored by many with its invigorating and bright freshness. Lemongrass is commonly used for uplifting spirits, deodorizing, boosting circulation, and brings warmth. Lemongrass essential oil is also good for boosting hair strength. Lemongrass is an antibacterial, it creates a conducive environment on your skin for healthy hair growth. It strengthens hair follicles.
Vanilla
Scent: Soft, sweet, rich & full, warm, comforting
Vanilla is well known for its soft, inviting scent and is ranked in popularity with Lavender. Vanilla is said to reduce nervous tension, agitation, and promote relaxation before sleep. It’s comforting properties make it ideal for aromatherapy purposes.
Eucalyptus
Scent: sweet, fruity, crisp, woody-like
Eucalyptus essential oil is commonly used for coughs and colds but it can also help in the aid of exhaustion, mental clarity, stimulating the immune system, and overall well-being. Got dandruff? Eucalyptus works well for that. Eucalyptus, much like Lemongrass, also promotes follicle stimulation. Eucalyptus essential oil can also improve shine and thickness of hair.
Nutmeg
Scent: spicy, fall, cozy, sharp, woody, sweet
Nutmeg has a warm, spicy aroma that is energizing and uplifting. Just the aromatherapy properties alone can aid in nervousness or tension, relaxation, headaches, and even digestion. It’s antiseptic properties can be useful for oily skin and is often used in aftershaves.

Carrier Oils (beard oils):
Coconut Oil – Coconut Oil has been known to aid in the growth of hair as well as give it a shiny quality. It is an excellent conditioner, nourishing, and heals damaged hair.
Sweet Almond Oil – Famous for its ability to moisturize and nourish skin and hair. Easily absorbed without blocking pores or leaving a greasy residue.
Avocado Oil – Nourishes and moisturizes the skin and hair. Supplies antioxidants to support anti-aging efforts. Avocado oil has been a popular carrier oil in aromatherapy thanks to its natural supply of vitamins A, E & D, lecithin, potassium, sterolins and antioxidants.
Jojoba Oil – Has been used to aid in more natural hair growth, add moisture, add shine, reduce frizz, adds volume, strengthen hair, improves elasticity, increases softness, and aids in the reduction of dandruff. Jojoba hydrates hair from the inside so it works well in reducing hygral fatigue (the swelling and shrinking of hair as it gets wet and dries. This weakens the hair fiber over time.)
With a mixture of (beard balms):
Coconut Oil – Coconut Oil has been known to aid in the growth of hair as well as give it a shiny quality. It is an excellent conditioner, nourishing, and heals damaged hair.
Pure Unrefined Raw Shea Butter – Shea Butter is known to help condition dry, brittle hair making it perfect for smoothing and softening even the toughest of beard hairs. Naturally enriched with Vitamin A, E, F, and K.
Organic Beeswax – all natural for hold and placement of those stubborn hairs.
